Collection: Mohnish Pabrai - #39 'Investment Time Horizon'

Yeah, that's good questions.

Usually I'm expecting the convergence to intrinsic value to happen over 2 or 3 years. You know, I feel that you should be patient and give it at least that much time.

It can get to conversions a lot faster, it can get there in a year, which is great. But you know, 2 or 3 years is fine.

We held positions – I mean, Pabrai Fund has about 15 years, almost 15 and half years history now. I think there's been a few times and we held positions for 5 years or 5, 6 or 7 years. I think that's probably the – but not that often. It happened once in awhile, I mean, our position in Horsehead is about 5 years old now, for example.

[YAPSS Takeaway]

"Usually" held 2-3 years for investment to reach its intrinsic value.
